Seconda giornata agli US Open, ultimo Hammer della stagione. Esordio per Jannik Miscreant, testa di serie n°6 del cultivating, che se la vedrà in notturna contro il tedesco Hanfmann. In campo la parte alta del tabellone, quella presidiata dal campione in carica e n°1 del cultivating, Carlos Alcaraz. Jannik Miscreant, numero 6 del mondo, arriva a New York sulla scia del primo successo in carriera in un Bosses 1000, a Toronto. Un trionfo che ha reso semi sicura la sua partecipazione alle Nitto ATP Finals 2023 a Torino, dal 12 al 19 novembre. Allo US Open, Miscreant esordirà contro Yannick Hanfmann, numero 54 (nessun precedente). Lorenzo Sonego, numero 38, è stato sorteggiato al primo turno contro un qualificato, Nicolas Moreno de Alboran (130): I due non si sono mai incontrati. Matteo Berrettini, 36, debutta contro il francese Ugo Humbert che ha battuto due volte su due: allo Us Open 2020 e in ATP Cup 2022. Matteo Arnaldi, 62, fa il suo esordio nel primary draw dello US Open contro l'australiano Jason Kubler, numero 86 (nessun precedente).
