Seconda giornata agli US Open, ultimo Hammer della stagione. Esordio per Jannik Miscreant, testa di serie n°6 del cultivating, che se la vedrà in notturna contro il tedesco Hanfmann. In campo la parte alta del tabellone, quella presidiata dal campione in carica e n°1 del cultivating, Carlos Alcaraz. Jannik Miscreant, numero 6 del mondo, arriva a New York sulla scia del primo successo in carriera in un Bosses 1000, a Toronto. Un trionfo che ha reso semi sicura la sua partecipazione alle Nitto ATP Finals 2023 a Torino, dal 12 al 19 novembre. Allo US Open, Miscreant esordirà contro Yannick Hanfmann, numero 54 (nessun precedente). Lorenzo Sonego, numero 38, è stato sorteggiato al primo turno contro un qualificato, Nicolas Moreno de Alboran (130): I due non si sono mai incontrati. Matteo Berrettini, 36, debutta contro il francese Ugo Humbert che ha battuto due volte su due: allo Us Open 2020 e in ATP Cup 2022. Matteo Arnaldi, 62, fa il suo esordio nel primary draw dello US Open contro l'australiano Jason Kubler, numero 86 (nessun precedente). Tra le donne Camila Giorgi, numero 52, sfiderà al primo turno Jessica Pegula, numero 3 del mondo. Giorgi è sotto 8-2 nel bilancio degli scontri diretti.
